Partner with us · Third edition, 2027
Let’s build the third edition together.
Two editions in, the Lab has a model that works. To keep it independent and sustainable, we are building a wider group of partners, so that no single funder carries it alone. That is where you come in.

What your support does
A small lab with a long reach
Your partnership pays for the things that make the Lab work: bringing nine filmmakers and three mentors to Kathmandu, six days of lab time, the development awards, and the two pitches that put the projects in front of international funders and broadcasters.
Ways to partner
Fund the Lab, back an award, or join the room
Fund an edition
Become a title, co-title or supporting partner of Kathmandu Doc Lab 2027, with credit across the Lab’s materials, the catalogue and the pitches.
Sponsor an award
Put your name on a development award presented at the Live Pitch, as the Documentary Association of Pakistan and Nepal Film Initiative did in 2026.
Sponsor a filmmaker
Cover one filmmaker’s travel and stay in Kathmandu, or an observer’s place in the Lab.
Join the Online Pitch
Funders, broadcasters and producers can join the pitch as industry guests and meet the projects one-on-one.
Give in kind
Flights, hotel rooms, equipment, design and printing all help.

Budget, partnership tiers and what each one includes are in the 2027 proposal.
Looking ahead
For 2027: keep doing what works
Founding support, 2025 to 2026
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) backed the Doc Lab through the kimff Foundation and helped build it from its very first edition.
